What is Family Day Care?Family day care is education and care provided in small groups by a trained educator. It is provided in the educator's home - ensuring flexibility, nurturing care to help children and families form genuine lasting bonds with their educator. Is Family Day Care Regulated?Yes! Every Family Day Care educator and scheme follow the same regulations and laws as any other early education service. We are assessed and rated under the National Quality Framework. For information about the National Quality Framework, click here

What are the benefits of Family Day Care?Family Day Care offers: 1. extended hours to assist those families that need to travel for work, shift workers, or to cover important meetings that may be held past regular business hours. before and after school care 2. education and care for children up to 13 years of age. This means that siblings can be cared for together, in one location 3. small group setting for more individualised learning programs

What scheme is Just 4 Tots FDC registered with?Just 4 Tots FDC is a proud member of the Collective Family Day Care (CFDC) scheme. CFDC opened their doors in 2016 and have educators across many areas in NSW. Collective FDC believe that children learn in an environment in which they are given opportunities to develop skills through play based learning. We believe that children should be given opportunities to direct their own play and are encouraged to be independent and confident learners. What qualifications does the educator hold?Nadia is university trained and has her Bachelor of Teaching (0-5 years) and a Graduate Certificate in Special Education (Early Childhood). She is continually completing professional development courses that cover a wide range of topics including behaviour management, child development, inclusion, programming and much more.

What hours is Just 4 Tots FDC open?Just 4 Tots FDC is open Monday to Friday from 700am to 530pm. If alternative times are required these can be discussed during the walk through or at enrolment.

What does Just 4 Tots FDC supply?Just 4 Tots FDC supplies all wipes, sunscreen, hats and bed sheets for rest time. Parents will need to pack lunch and snacks for the day, drink bottles, baby formula and bottles, and nappies.

What is the teacher to child ratio at Just 4 Tots Family Day Care?Just 4 Tots FDC cares for no more than 7 children per day. Of these 7, no more than 4 can be under school age.

Does Just 4 Tots FDC have an open door policy?Of course! Families are more than welcome to join in the fun at Just 4 Tots FDC at any time. If you are at work, you are more than welcome to call, message or email to find out how your child is doing. Of course, it is important to bear in mind that while messages will be replied to as soon as possible, this may not happen immediately due to being in the moment with the children or it could be that we are changing a nappy.

How am I kept up to date with what my child is learningJust 4 Tots FDC uses the online platform Storypark to record and document your child's learning. Storypark helps keep you informed on the learning (and play) that happens at Just 4 Tots FDC. It provides opportunities for both community communication and private discussions. Your child's routines (eating, sleeping, nappy changes) are also recorded here. You can add your own posts about family time and this will aid with future programming of activities based on these experiences. And its available as an app on your phone!

What happens if my child becomes unwell while at Just 4 Tots FDC?If your child becomes unwell while in care, you will be contacted to organise for you or another authorised person to collect your child as soon as possible. Children who are unwell, will be kept as comfortable as possible until they are collected. If your child is displaying symptoms of comon contagious diseases, you will be asked to keep your child home. We realise that this will have some impact on families, however policies such as these are in place to protect other children, their families and of course educators from becoming ill.

What happens if you need to miss a day due to a child's illness or family vacation?Any days missed due to illness, vacation or public holidays must still be paid for. You will still be eligible for Child Care Subsidy for these days for the first 42 absences for the financial year. If Just 4 Tots FDC is closed due to an educator illness or vacation then fees are not payable for that period.

Do you support breastfeeding mothers?Absolutely! Mothers who are breastfeeding can either come in to feed their child at any time. Alternatively, expressed breastmilk can be provided and will be prepared for you child using the appropriate guidelines.

What is the routine for feeding babies?You will be requested to provide your child's routine (including sleep, feeding, etc) when you start at Just 4 Tots FDC. This will be followed as closely as possible to ensure the transition between home and care is as smooth as possible.
